Nature poems, Ed KeenanDance of
The Honeybee

After months of cold and gray…
The spirit of all nature, including I,
is anxious for spring!

Dance of The Honeybee

Sunlight crossed the front of the hive
this morning—

And with a dance in the heart,
the honeybees burst to the entrance
crowding the slender opening,
prepared to start the
circle dance.

Anxious for the hive to warm,
a signal to flee right on into spring
on to landing pads of bloom,
impatient for the
wagging dance.

And sunlight entered under my door
this morning…
